[JULIE WATT RESUME]
Hello, my name is Julie Watt.
I am very goal driven and aspire to aim high, move forward, and give back. I
have over 15 years experience in the Graphic Design and Fine Arts professions and
over 7 years of teaching experience within the elementary, secondary and
collegiate sectors. I am always looking to move forward within both my
creative background and educational experience with passion for art, design
and communication. Subsequently, I am
ultimately interested in further progression of learned experiences and
teaching on the highest level, while continuing personal development of myself
as an Artist, Educator, Designer and Facilitator. I would
love the opportunity to speak with you and further discuss education,
art, design, and the context and progression of Graphic and Multimedia Design
in today’s society.
My educational and teaching experiences range from Multimedia and Information Design Professor, Graphic Design / New Media Instructor, Co-Director at The Complex Performing Arts Centre, Senior Graphic Designer, and Creative Director, among others. I have had the opportunity to engage students within the Graphic Technology theory and processes, assist with resume and portfolio building, develop and facilitate visual art classes, provide mentoring of youth at the elementary/middle/high school and college levels. I have also had the opportunity to conceptualize and coordinate interdisciplinary-based classes and sessions which have allowed students a forum to find their creative voices while building self-confidence, creative thinking and creative problem solving skills which extend well beyond the visual art and design classrooms. I have had the opportunity to work with numerous exceptional students and the privilege of working with world-renowned Artists and Educators. Locally, I continue to work collaboratively on community-based projects (Visual and Performing Arts) to further foster the evolution and development of the Arts in Northeastern CT. I am a member of the Putnam Arts Council, The Putnam Business Association, AIGA and CT Art Directors Club.
I have spent the last fifteen years of my professional career working in the design/marketing arenas; creating business strategies, overseeing and originating education programs within the workforce, and developing community programs and outreach initiatives both in the corporate and community sectors. I consider myself a very detail oriented person with a strong work ethic and big picture ideas. I plan to devote the rest of my professional career to further learning, growing and thriving; educating myself and students, and enveloping and re-developing myself within the Arts and Educational sectors.
